Artist's BIO

Pavla Yakimova is a digital photographer born in Bulgaria, now living in Glasgow, Scotland. She is currently based in Saint Peter, Minnesota where she attends Gustavus Adolphus College studying for Bachelor of Arts degrees in Computer Science and Studio Art. Yakimova is fascinated by complex images involving multiple layers and unique compositions. She is curious in observing emotional states in the people around her and representing psychological themes in her photographs. Yakimova’s focus on sports photography has been a crucial turning point in her discovering her interests in the human form and psychology. Her main goal with her art is to allow a time for reflection and spark curiosity in the viewer.
